Your eternal memory, our Guide and Lighthouse

Ilias Brellas, a wonderful football player with exceptional talent and morals, was from an early age one of the greatest talents of the Karditsa prefecture, with a special appeal in scoring, having even played in other local teams.

In his football debut, with the team of A.S.M. Karaiskakis Mavrommatiou, the then 15-year-old Ilias scored all 4 winning goals against the team of A.O. Pedinou.

Unfortunately, on January 15, 2023, at the time of the Karaiskakis Mavrommatiou - Doxa Ambelou match for the 11th matchday of the 2nd EPS Karditsa at the Mavrommatiou stadium, Ilias suddenly felt unwell and collapsed. Despite the first aid on the field and his subsequent transfer to the Karditsa Hospital, his heart could not take it and his death was simply confirmed, plunging his relatives, the local community and the whole of Greece into a heavy mourning.

His memory was and will remain deeply rooted in the hearts of all of us. His morals, his smile and the kindness of his soul will be a Guide and a Lighthouse for the next generations. Surely our Mother Panagia has him in her arms.
